Open Positions

Residential Counselors

Seeking dedicated counselors who are energetic and prepared to work with youth ages 13-17, in safe, secure, and nurturing environment. The Residential counselors are responsible for the welfare and care of youth. Responsibilities include implementing behavior management procedures, supervising educational and recreational activities, and actively participating with a Treatment Team. Additionally, counselors are responsible for providing a clean and attractive home environment that is safe and supportive, models good hygiene, and supports the development of the residents.

The qualifications for this position include: an Associates or a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and one year of experience working with youth in a group setting; or a High School Diploma and two years of experience working with youth in a group setting.

Hearts & Homes for Youth is hiring F/T, P/T, and relief staff to work shifts on weekdays, evenings, and weekends, at our locations in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, Prince George’s and Montgomery counties.

This position requires a criminal background check, Child Protective Services check, a valid driving record, and a current driver’s license. Hearts & Homes for Youth is committed to providing high quality of services to our residents and ensures the delivery of these services through a strong training program.

 

Senior Counselors

Senior Counselors are responsible for monitoring program goals and adherence to procedures; assisting the Program Manager in hiring, evaluation, and supervision of staff; acting as a liaison between Counselors and the Program Manager; overseeing case management functions and maintaining continuity in the program; and performing delegated administrative duties. Must have strong organizational, writing, problem solving skills, and must have experience working with adolescents and/or youth. Senior Counselors must hold Baccalaureate degree in a human services field, or have two years post-secondary education at the Associate degree level, or hold a High School Diploma and have three years of experience working with youth in a group setting.
