Hasn’t every female, at one time or another, dreamed of being “Princess for a Day”? Well, the young ladies of HHY got that chance when Susan Davis, wife of devoted Board Member Larry Davis, decided to fulfill that dream. Susan approached friends, relatives and local businesses with her idea of a Princess Party. Susan and Larry’s son Mitchell, a senior at Wootton High School and a staunch supporter of HHY, asked his friends to donate items as well. Soon, donations of dresses, gowns, jewelry, shoes, handbags and accessories came flooding in.

The Princess Party was held on June 14th at the main offices of HHY. The young ladies enjoyed a light buffet before the evening of fashion fun got into full swing. Susan brought a bevy of people with her to make the event spectacular. Julie and Erin Futrovksy not only donated items for the event, they were personal shoppers extraordinaire, helping the girls find just the right dress and accessories. LJ Bushwick also donated items and was on hand to style hair. Tanya Heyison, a professional makeup artist, helped bring out each girl’s natural beauty, and all of the young ladies sat for a photo shoot with professional photographer Suzanne Glassman.

The event was a huge success. “It was so much fun,” said Susan. I am so glad they all enjoyed the program because we could not stop talking about it! The girls warmed all of our hearts. I am so glad it was a success and we will definitely make it a yearly event."
