Marys Mount Manor Girls’ Therapeutic Group Home
Marys Mount Manor, located in a community setting in Harwood, Maryland, was established and specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of females referred by the Department of Social Services. The structured program provides a nurturing, home-like atmosphere where clients have the opportunity to learn appropriate coping techniques, essential life skills, and are given the tools necessary to work through critical life issues.
POPULATION SERVED
Eight adolescent females ages 13-17 from throughout the state of Maryland
SERVICES OFFERED
- Program uniquely tailored to meet the therapeutic needs of adolescent females
- Individual, group, and art therapy
- On-site psychiatric evaluation and on-going medication evaluation
- Anger management
- Educational advocacy and support; tutoring and college prep
- Case management, referral and coordination for health services, substance abuse treatment, family therapy, and additional necessary services
- Therapeutic recreation and constructive use of leisure time
- Life skills training to support self sufficiency and independent living
- Community service work
- Length of stay is typically long-term (9-15 months)
