Our mission
Hearts & Homes for Youth is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth who have experienced abuse, neglect, mental health issues, homelessness, and other trauma, to make positive life choices and build brighter futures.
Our vision
To create a supportive community where every child has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential
Youth in our care are referred by the Department of Juvenile Services as an alternative to detention or by the Department of Social Services to remove them from an unsafe environment.
We offer programs throughout the state including group homes, therapeutic group homes, foster care, independent living, a program for pregnant and parenting teen mothers, and a workforce readiness program. Our devoted staff of child welfare professionals provides the youth with therapy, academic support, vocational training, case management, advocacy, and life skills training in a nurturing, homelike environment.
Since we opened our doors in 1964, we have served more than 40,000 youth from across the state of Maryland.
