Take Action!

Every child deserves to the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential! You can help unlock the potential of the youth in our care and support their growth and development. From volunteering at one of our activities, to holding a drive for baby items, to hosting a fundraiser, you can make a meaningful difference in the life of a young person!

Foster a child

We are always looking for individuals and families who are willing to open their hearts and homes to the young survivors in our care. Foster parents receive intensive training and support in working with youth. The gifts of love and sacrifice are immeasurable. To learn more, contact Gary Jones at gjones@heartsandhomes.org or 301-679-1405.

Donate a car

Donate your car, truck, or SUV to Hearts & Homes for Youth! It’s easy, you can drop it off or arrange a pick up and donations are tax deductible. The vehicle will be used by our programs to transport the youth in our care, for example, getting them to medical appointments and extracurricular activities! We need cars and are grateful for your consideration. If you have a car you can spare, please contact Valerie Snogren at vsnogren@heartsandhomes.org.

We look to groups and organizations in the community to help us increase our impact! We have partnered with schools, colleges, businesses, faith-based groups, community groups, civic organizations, and many others who want to make a difference. There are many ways you can get involved and partner with us, including:

  • Volunteering at an activity for our youth
  • Mentoring or tutoring our youth
  • Organizing a drive

  • Raising funds and making financial contributions
